A teenage magician is hoping to amaze judges at a top national competition.

Cameron Glenwright has reached the finals of the Young Magician of the Year contest, to be held in London on April 9 at the London HQ of the Magic Circle.

But if it hadn’t been for a birthday party treat when he was younger, he might not have become a magic man at all.

Cameron, of Ingleby Barwick, may only be 16 but has already gained an impressive reputation as an accomplished magician, unicyclist and juggler.

Three times winner of the Northern Magic Circle’s junior stage competition, he has performed at a variety of venues in and around his native North-east, including the historic Seaton Delaval Hall.
