Admit it: You wish you had been there.

Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, and Seth Rogen, the man who plays Woz in the upcoming film “Steve Jobs,” hung out together at The Magic Castle, a membership club for magicians in Los Angeles.

Danny Boyle, the director of “Steve Jobs,” shared the tidbit during a Q&A with Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the film, following a screening of it in New York City on Monday night. Read more..

It’s far more underhanded than sleight-of-hand. Budding magicians who have been blatantly ripping off leading headline magicians are using more and more magic tricks of others.

It’s gotten so bad that Criss Angel told Britain’s Celebrity Radio Exclusively that he intends to sue “Britain’s Got Talent” magician Darcy Oake after one of his “stolen” illusions aired on the BBC show. Criss told CRE: “A total rip-off stolen for the show. They might as well have come in my house and stolen my TVs.”

As the world’s top magician having attracted 300 million hits on YouTube and generated $150 million in revenue at Cirque du Soleil’s “Believe” in the Luxor last year, Criss shot to fame on A&E with his pioneer, unique, exciting and often-controversial style of magic on “Mindfreak.” Read more at:

Perform Awesome Card Illusions With A Homemade Magic Trick Deck..

Perform Awesome Card Illusions With A Homemade Magic Trick Deck..

No matter what anyone says about performing magic tricks, everyone’s jaws drop when they see an amazing illusion. Here’s how you can turn a regular deck of cards into a custom deck that makes doing magic tricks easy.

Over at Make, Gareth Branwyn has a guide — based on a how-to in Mark Frauenfelder’s ebook Trick Decks— for turning a standard deck of cards into what’s known as a “stripper deck.” The cards in this kind of deck are tapered so that even beginner magicians can quickly pull certain cards from the deck with ease. You can see an example of a stripper deck trick in this video from Mark Frauenfelder’s YouTube channel.

To make your own, you just need a way to trim each of the cards accurately. Branwyn uses an office paper trimmer with a jig setup that ensures each card gets cut the exact same way. Once you’ve cut the cards properly, your deck is ready to perform several illusions you can find in various magic books or online. Check out the complete guide at the link below for more tips and places to find magic tricks.

‘If I’m buying a new house or car, I’ll use any technique I can to get them cheaper’ – Keith Barry

He has messed with the minds of some of the world’s biggest stars, from Morgan Freeman and Keanu Reeves to Nicole Scherzinger and Woody Harrelson, so meeting mentalist and hypnotist Keith Barry one-to-one is a slightly intimidating affair, to say the least.

Fresh from his success on the ratings-topping ITV show You’re Back in the Room with Phillip Schofield, which has now been commissioned for a second season and has also been recorded for Australia’s Channel Nine, Keith is excited to be back in Ireland to tour with his latest stage show ‘Out of Control.’ Read more..
