Magic is coming to ABC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has committed to a new pilot titled Deception.

The drama comes from Chris Fedak, Martin Gero, Greg Berlanti, and David Kwong. The latter three serve as producers on NBC’s Blindspot.

Here’s the show’s official description:

When a superstar magician’s career is ruined by scandal, he has only one place to turn to practice his art of deception, illusion and influence — the FBI. He’ll become the world’s first consulting illusionist, helping the government solve crimes that defy explanation, and trap criminals and spies by using deception.”

Eagles’ Dorenbos, who ‘got to live out a dream,’ finishes third on ‘America’s Got Talent’..

Someone sitting up in bed on a Tuesday night in Normal, Illinois – a person who may not know the difference between a football and a pumpkin – now knows who Jon Dorenbos is. Someone channel hopping in Canal Point, Florida, who may have thought a long snapper was a fisherman on an Alaskan crab boat, now knows No. 46 of the Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s what Dorenbos, the beloved veteran special teamer, wanted when he decided to compete on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” The goal was simple: To have some fun building his after-football brand.

It appears he certainly has. And it also appears it’s turned into something much larger than he anticipated.

A lot more of America knows the name Jon Dorenbos.

His personal, tragic story gripped the hearts of everyone across the country who watched. His sleight-of-hand magic tricks enabled him to reach the finals among the thousands that auditioned for the show. But his ultimate goal of winning AGT fell just short. He finished third overall, one-percentage behind the eventual winner, 12-year-old ukulele-playing Grace VanderWaal, a favorite to win the coveted $1-million prize who garnered millions of votes with her catchy, folksy tunes.  Read more….

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ – Does Ivan Amodei have super powers? The captivating illusionist has left audience members seriously contemplating that question by his appearance on the world famous duos third season finale of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, which airs on the CW Network on Friday, September 16. (Check local listings in your area).

The premise of the show is that Penn & Teller sit in the audience and watch as magicians try to fool them with a trick that the famous illusionists are unable to re-engineer. Amodei, with the accompaniment of his elegant cellist Irina Chirkova and her transcendental sounds, stumped the audience and its hosts with his “State of Mind” original illusion.  Using 1,800 audience members, Ivan was able to leave the hulking Penn and his quirky non-verbal partner Teller shaking their heads.

“Ivan is a top-flight illusionist, but he’s also a consummate entertainer,” said an audience member who participated in the illusion.

Currently in his seventh year of residency with his Intimate Illusions stage show at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, he is also currently embarking on a critically acclaimed national tour that has been selling out at record speed.

From humble beginnings in Cosmo, Sicily, to his formative years in Brooklyn, New York, and finally to his spellbinding career as one of the world’s most revered illusionists, Ivan Amodei (pronounced e-von ah-moe-day) continues to amaze audiences everywhere with his one-of-a-kind approach to the art of illusion. By mixing thought provoking storyline and meaning into each custom demonstration of the human experience, he has proven time and time again that he carries a show that is not to be missed.

The illusion that he performed for Fool Us demonstrates the ability that we have as people to focus on what is important in making your intuition materialize into action, meaning that by ignoring the preponderance of thoughts in our heads we are able to focus on the ones that give us the answers that we need.

“Penn & Teller are the best in the business. Combined, they have over 80 years of experience in magic, and fooling them would be equal to showing Einstein an equation that he has never seen before and was impressed by. I was honored to be on the show,” says Ivan.

Ivan currently has an ongoing residency at the Beverly Wilshire…
