Magician and illusionist Joe Holiday is happy to be home. For more than 20 years, the Atlantic City native has been performing his magic both big and small in numerous places across the country and the world. His most memorable gig was as the featured guest star in international magician Franz Harary’s multi-million dollar illusion show Mega Magic seen by over a million people throughout Asia. 

At the moment, however, he has turned in his passport and is presenting an intimate magic show six days a week at the Comedy Stop at Tropicana.

Magic Camp Helps Treat Children with Hemiplegia

7News in Australia reports on young children with medical problems being helped through magic…

 Hemiplegia is a form of paralysis on one side of the body..

The condition means a simple task like tying your shoelaces can be tricky for children.

But it no longer seems such an enormous challenge for Ella Korlaki, 8, now that she can magically repair a piece of rope after slicing it in half.

“It’s helpful, it’s educational and it’s fun,” Ella said.

Ella is taking part in the first magic camp run by the Arts Health Institute, an Australian charity using the performing arts to help those with health needs.

Some of Australia’s best magicians are working alongside occupational therapists, teaching close-up magic tricks to the young participants.

There’s only so much enthusiasm a person can muster up for cylindrical-limbed dogs. Off the beaten path of the typical party-clown, however, there are balloon artists experimenting with brave new forms of rubber shapes. Magician, photographer, and avid balloon twister Rob Driscoll actually did so every day of 2013, and emerged with stunning latex versions of Mickey Mouse, Yoda, and even a full turkey dinner..”

Things haven’t exactly been smooth lately for one of the true living legends of magic..

“Not even magician Paul Daniels could think a lot of it as flood water poured  into his multi-million pounds house yesterday.

Gallons of water flooded into the home he shares with other half Debbie McGee  as the upper reaches of the River Thames in Berkshire couldn’t cope with the  deluge.

Not even TV wand-waver Daniels, who had earlier started to alert neighbours,  could hold back the tide.”
