A Mystifying Night With Illusionist Ivan Amodei At The Beverly Wilshire Hotel..

image  While there is no making people disappear or sawing of an assistant in half, illusionist Ivan Amodei’s show “Intimate Illusions” at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel does offer a lot of mind-boggling acts.

His show weaves his own original illusions while combining a unique “magical” experience that’s humorous, but also dazzles with a live cellist in an elegant candle-lit atmosphere.

Amodei said he set out to create a different type of illusion show.

“I talk about inspirational things like facing your fears, overcoming obstacles, and what are the most important things in your life,” Amodei said. “I talk about finding your destiny. The entertainer, who has performed for royalty and rock stars, now finds himself blackballed at poker and roulette tables from London to Las Vegas. And he says it is all because gambling bosses fear he might use his spellbinding skills to go on a winning streak or spring an Oceans Eleven-style heist.

Redfearn says he is refused entry to all of London’s 40 casinos, including the Rendezvous in Park Lane which sent him a letter saying: “I am sorry to inform you the membership committee has decided that your membership is to be withdrawn.

"This means, with immediate effect, you will no longer be able to use the facilities either as a member or as a guest of another member.”…

By day, Bill Hutcheon is a zoning investigator for the city of Sacramento’s Community Development Department. By night, however, he’s known as Bill Devon, a magician and owner of Top Class Magic (www.topclassmagic.com). Born in 1949, he started as a magician’s apprentice before working professionally from age 16 until his mid-20s, when the need to support a wife and child required him to find a “regular job.” Still, he’s not given up his tricks entirely. These days, he still performs at birthday parties, corporate events and community celebrations.
