Mantecore, the tiger that injured Roy Horn over a decade ago, has died. He was 17.
A statement released by illusionist duo Siegfried & Roy on theirFacebook page Tuesday said the tiger died from an illness on March 19. No other details were provided and it was unclear where the tiger was when it died.
Horn was injured by the 380-pound tiger named Mantecore during a live performance at The Mirage hotel-casino in Las Vegas in 2003…

Magician Jeanette Andrews asks me to mark random dots on the back of her business card and initial it on the front.
She waves the card around a bit and — voilà! — the random dots on the back of the initialed card have arranged themselves to form the words “Daily Herald.”
Magic. Andrews literally has been performing it almost her entire life. She presented her first magic show to her preschool class when she was 4. Now 24, the Wheaton resident is an accomplished magician who has performed on TV shows and lectured around the country.

Comedy magician Nathan Burton made one of his competitors disappear Thursday.
Minutes after Murray Sawchuck and his wife, Khloe, arrived just before Burton’s 4 p.m. show at Saxe Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, they were escorted out, he said.
“I had texted Nathan when we got there to let him know I was there. I think it’s respectful to let someone know,” said Sawchuck, a headliner at the Tropicana for almost two years.
Sawchuck said he was informed by a theater manager that “Nathan personally called me to have you escorted out.”
They left without incident, he said.
“I didn’t know we had a problem,” said Sawchuck. “We do now.”
Sawchuck said he loaned Burton a prop “from one of my illusions for a couple of months.”
Both Burton and Sawchuck were participants on different seasons of “America’s Got Talent.”
“This kind of thing is a shame, a little classless, but that’s just me,” Sawchuck said.
Calls to Burton for comment were not returned by deadline.
