‘Stick Manohar’ teaches 1,500 kids magic tricks in 85 minutes

HYDERABAD: A lathi and a crowd is something that goes hand in hand in a police officer’s life. However, for S Manohar Rao,  who goes by the name ‘Stick Manohar’, a crowd of 1,500 schoolchildren and a magic wand in hand was the last step before making it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

The 55-year-old is an Assistant Commisioner of Police (ACP) attached to the Central Crime Station, Detective Department, of Hyderabad Police. The Las Vegas home of entertainer Penn Jillette, known as the talkative half of the Penn & Teller magic duo, has sold for $1.88 million.

Nicknamed ‘The Slammer,’ the colorful compound on about nine acres was originally built in 1982 and later expanded by Jillette during his two-plus decades of ownership. “It’s the house of a 12-year-old with a lot of money,” Jillette said of the compound, which features a mix of bright neon hues and multicolored grass, in a 2004 interview with USA Today.

Surrounded by concrete walls, the fantastical property also has a 14-seat movie theater, a recording studio, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms in more than 7,900 square feet of living space. Cheetah print carpeting and brightly colored walls are among the interior details. Read more..
