WHEN I call Derren Brown, it’s just over two weeks before he’s due to step on stage for the first night of his seventh stage tour, and he’s still in the middle of putting it all together.
The Olivier Award-winning stage and screen performer is fastidious about preventing tour spoilers, and every night on stage he’ll ask reviewers and audience members to keep schtum – lest their blabbering ruins his reveals for other people who might go to see him perform.
So when I ask what he can tell me about a show that he hasn’t finished putting together yet, and probably wouldn’t want to talk about anyway, his answer is “well, quite…”
