John Blake to republish Paul Daniels’ autobiography..

John Blake Publishing is to republish Paul Daniels’ autobiography, retitled My Magic Life, as a “tribute to one of Britain’s greatest primetime entertainers”.

The publisher holds world rights to the book.

Born in 1938 and interested in magic since he was a child, Daniels honed his craft before rising to stardom and captivating the nation for decades with his extraordinary tricks and illusions. He brought magic to the masses, in an age when whole families still gathered together around the television. In later life, while he remained an instantly recognisable face to millions, he still revealed little of the lows that accompanied the highs of his “dazzling” career.

In his autobiography, he speaks about his “incredible” life and career – “from his grim experiences in the army and the heartbreak of a broken marriage to finding love with ‘the lovely Debbie McGee’. And then, of course, there was the magic. Perhaps surprisingly, his book reveals the secrets behind some of his most famous and entertaining performances”. (Special Thanks to Michael Lyth)
