Considered one of the best poker players in the world, Antonio was first a magician.. thus the nickname. Now, he has returned to his roots and is taping a series titled “Strip Magic”.. Look for more episodes soon..

Rick Thomas cites Liberace and Freddy Mercury of Queen as a couple of influences when putting together his act. You would expect a magician to name someone like David Copperfield in that role. But what Thomas saw in the pianist and singer was magic of a different kind. It was the magic of entertaining and mesmerizing a crowd through style and technique. It was beyond pulling a rabbit out of a hat or making something disappear.

Strand-Capitol adds magicians Penn & Teller to comedy lineup..

The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York City has added some name recognition to its comedy lineup.

Magicians Penn & Teller will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, the Strand announced Tuesday in a news release.

The comedy duo has performed together for almost 40 years, doing shows in Las Vegas, on Broadway and as part of TV appearances and world tours.

Tickets are on sale now to Strand members and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25. Tickets range in price from $66 to $79.

But for Richard Turner, a world-renowned card mechanic who is blind, and the wide range of audiences he performs for, that isn’t the case.

Turner, 59, lives in San Antonio and is regarded as one of the best-known card mechanics and up-close magicians in the world. He’s performed his astonishing sleights of hand for more than 40 years, and his movie-script-like life story, which goes far beyond his skills as a card shark, is the subject of a new feature-length documentary.
