Andrew Mayne is not your typical man-on-the-street magician. He’s not pulling a quarter from behind your ear. He’s making your car disappear right before your eyes. Or he’s making your iPhone vanish from your purse and teleport into a sealed pickle jar. The magician just wrapped the first season of “Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne” on the A&E network, and here’s a sample of some of the amazing tricks he can do:..

Magician-illusionist-writer Andrew Mayne wants to visit the Philippines, which he admitted is among his dream destinations.

“I’ve never been (there) but I would love to go visit the Philippines,” he said in a phone interview, adding that he knows a lot of “very intelligent Filipino people,” which he counts among his “mentors.” Of these, he cites his head magic consultant Enrico dela Vega, as well as his Judo teacher as both Filipino.

Born in Opelika, Alabama, Mayne’s interest in magic began when his grandfather showed him how he could make a quarter vanish, only to make it reappear moments later in his shoe or sometimes, his belly button.

“Until now I still don’t have any idea how he did it,” Mayne confessed.

He earned recognition being the second youngest illusionist to embark on a world tour (the first was American illusionist David Copperfield)…

 "A+E (which launched the TV career of Criss Angel) wanted another magic series. Producers Joke Fincioen and Biagio Messina (known professionally as Joke and Biagio) wanted to do a reality show about revenge. Andrew Mayne, a magician and illusion inventor, was looking for an unscripted series that could showcase his skills in another way.

Aligning these goals produced a twist on established, but disparate reality genres: “How’d he do that?” street magic, dissonant couples, pranking, and melodrama. The result, Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne, premiering Jan. 13, is a funny revenge show that uses magical hijinks to tell stories and resolve differences while wowing viewers…“
