On a balmy spring Saturday night, pretty young things pour into theNoMad Hotel. There’s an Adrien Brody sighting in the lobby, but the scantily clad girls in bandage dresses and sky-high Louboutins aren’t here to meet movie stars.
They’re here for a magic show.
Or, more specifically, to lock eyes with Dan White, the smoldering 33-year-old magician who studied under David Copperfield, performed alongside David Blaine and is now razzle-dazzling fans of his own with tricks involving cards, iPhones and the occasional, eye-popping levitation. Read more:

Dan White does a magic trick that goes something like this: he asks a member of the audience to come to the stage, and hands them his wallet. Then six other people guess a number between 1 and 60 and shout it out. White writes the numbers on a big, green classroom chalkboard. The final number is called, and there’s no money in the wallet: it’s a Powerball lottery ticket, and those are all of the numbers on it. The audience gasps, but he’s just getting started.
The Magician is a small, 72-seat magic show in the NoMad Hotel. The aesthetic of the show is exactly what you’d expect from the NoMad: decadent cocktails, seductive lighting, a vintage vibe from old magician posters on the walls, and attentive but not intrusive service. Read more at:
