The Magicians is the sort of show that knows how to hold your interest. It had a bumpy start in its first few episodes, but it showed from the beginning that it knows how to have a good hook, and it wasn’t afraid to go big.

As the season passed by, Syfy’s new fantasy drama became the TV show I most looked forward to watching every week. Each episode felt different and challenging in its own way. From the bold choice in having its fourth episode,“The World in the Walls,” completely shake up the show’s format to essentially using inverse character development to establish its characters, The Magicians had me hook, line and sinker throughout all of its first season.
