Shortly before his death at 95 last year, Larry Weeks, a retired Brooklyn juggler, agreed to part with an extraordinary secret legacy — the only known copy of a 1919 film starring legendary magician Harry Houdini. For seven decades, Weeks had refused to share the rare movie with the public.

A newly restored version of “The Grim Game” will have its first public showing in decades at the TCM Classic Film Festival, which opens in LA on Thursday. The movie will also be shown on the TCM channel.

Rick Schmidlin, who negotiated the deal with Weeks on behalf of TCM, reveals to The Post the details of a story as mystifying as any of Houdini’s escapes.   READ MORE :
